Project Empower is a multifaceted youth strategy designed to support at-risk youth and prevent their participation in high-risk behaviors by:
  • Providing non school hour activities which promote healthy personal development and give youth opportunities for growth and achievement;
  • Working collaboratively with area schools as a community partner to support educational goals and help students meet academic requirements; and

MWFHE, Inc. views Project Empower as the starting point for ultimately enhancing the functioning of the family as a unit. Direct services currently provided as a part of Project Empower include:

  • After school programming 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Summer camps - 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Mon-Friday July 1, 2005 to Aug 19, 2005
  • Mentoring services
  • Development sports leagues
  • In school behavior modification and academic improvement workshops and
  • Case management, referral and advocacy services
